Half of the book was written by Veronica Rossi so my first thoughts before reading Boomerang were: "I am so going to love this book!!" "This book is gonna be awesome!"
But thinking that my love for the author might bias my opinion on this book, I decided to read it by ignoring the fact that Veronica wrote this!! omg !! (Which is so hard, by the way.)

In the end, I'm so glad that I didn't have to worry a thing on how I will rate this book because right from the first chapter, I already knew that it was gonna be one hell of a ride. And it was. The story is so cool and steps out of the clichéd boundary that most NAs fail to get out of. Ethan and Mia are great characters--just two real people who make mistakes. Two people who aren't afraid to show their attraction to each other. Two characters who aren't perfect but in my eyes they are. Their chemistry just works. It's hot and it sizzles.

I mean come on, most NAs might actually work if not only for their stupid characters and stupid drama. And it's sad that NA is more known for the stupid characters and drama. It's tiring. We want change!

I want more refreshing NA. More of this. More please. Moooore. More? Yes. More.

I almost loved it, but the characters just annoyed me too much in the end. I like it when they annoy me in the beginning and then show some development, but there was none here. (Especially, Mia, because, like, what even???) Still a heck of a lot better than most NA books though.

5 stars definitely don't seem enough for this awesome book! Contrary to its name my feelings for the books remained the same throughout the read.. that its absolutely amazing! There were no silly pranks or misunderstandings between the characters and they were really understanding of each other despite the fact that they are supposed to be fighting over a job. I am already missing the Ethan and Mia and wish the second book in the series has more than just their guest appearances!

This should have been better than it was. So much of the dialogue fell flat for me. Nobody in the world uses this many double entendres, especially not 21 year olds (and if there are those who do, I do not want to know them). The idea of this was so much better than the execution, which is too bad. I had high hopes with Veronica Rossi at the helm.

I've read only the first 19 chapters as they were free, and I have no intention to finish the book.

The characters are great, likeable. Although, the main characters sound older than they are. 21 year-old people don't speak, act or think the way these two do.

The setting, the world of the novel couldn't be more unrealistic, even if the author would have tried to create an intentionally unrealistic setting.

Start-ups don't work this way.
Marketing and event planning/preparing for a trade show don't work this way.
Photography doesn't work this way.

I presume or at least fervently hope, that the author has done her research, but she either didn't ask enough questions or didn't ask the right questions.

But if reality doesn't bother you much, it'll sure be a fun read as the characters are really good.

Mkay...where to start?
First, I did thoroughly enjoy the story line and I thought the chemistry between the characters was believable and well written.

What did I not like?
*sigh* The fact that these characters are supposed to be twenty-freaking-one years old. Mkay, yeah, no. There are very few 21 years olds that are this a) thoughtful, b) creative/cultured, c) smart, d) well spoke , and e) just all around awesome. Most 21 year olds are intent on drinking (which I felt was accurate in the story), whining, and being pretty selfish (I know this is not always true, but come on..) Really, most of them are pretty lost at this point in life. Oh and don't get me started on the 22 year old boss. *insert eye roll*
I used to work quit closely with college students this age, and very few of them impressed me with their poise or brilliance.
uhg, I liked this book...but can we make the ages less cringe worthy?
And side question: is it normal for 21 year olds to already be so "experienced " and also soooo emotionally damaged?? I mean, i get some of it, but the extent that was portrayed in this book seems crazy. Have I just lived uber sheltered, or what??
hmm.
Mkay, well, I'm done, I guess. I doubt that I'll be reading the second book.

I am not familiar with either authors Veronica Rossi or Lorin Oberweger. In this case Noelle August. I wanted to check out this book because one the book cover was cute, two the storyline sounded good, and three I have been getting into this new genre "New Adult".

Boomerang is a charming, witty, fun read! Mia and Ethan are great together. They shared instant chemistry and it had nothing to do with the fact that they woke up in bed together with Mia's underwear in the toaster oven. When I mentioned that this book was witty I forgot to also mention that this meant funny as well. There were a couple of times where I would a section to my husband and he would laugh. There was a moment at the end when Mia's hair had turned into a giant afro of curls. This only happened after really good sex. I thought this was funny because when I first met my husband years ago, he was into wearing hats backwards. He took his hat off and I thought I was never going to be seen again. My husband had a curly afro. I had never seen one up close. In fact, my husband made sure to get a hair cut before me met my parents for the first time. I can't wait to see what the second book brings. Probably more antics (I hope).

Although not my usual genre, I have read and enjoyed New Adult books from time to time and Boomerang is no exception. This is a fun, light and humorous read with characters I can relate too.

So what happens when two people hook-up, have differing opinions about what happened the night before, share a taxi ride to their mutual first days as interns, only to find out, they're going to be competing for a job? It's going to be complicated!

Ethan is a recent graduate from UCLA. He wants the job at Boomerang to help clear some students loans so he can apply to law school.
Mia is hoping to graduate soon and become a film-maker. She doesn't have any financial worries because her parents are wealthy and successful in their chosen fields. As an only child of accomplished parents, she wants to achieve her own success, and the internship with Boomerang is a springboard opportunity not to be missed.

Our young protagonists' expectations are crushed when they find out that their internship isn't quite what they expected. Add to that a “no-company dating” rule and we end up with a highly amusing romantic comedy which sizzles. The author does a fabulous job at building the sexual tension between Ethan and Mia as well as convincingly conveying a whole spectrum of emotions that they both have to learn to deal with in the adult world.

Boomerang is refreshing, entertaining and unputdownable. I'm looking forward to reading Rebound, the next installment from this series.
