4.5/5 ⭐️
Genre: Cozy Mystery Length: 5h 21m
Synopsis: A body is found in the library of a family and no one has any idea who the dead girl is. Miss Marple is called to observe and see if she can solve the mystery.
Review: I have seen most of the TV adaptations to Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple series. I did remember this particular one but I couldn’t remember who the murderer was. So, even though I had seen the adaptation, I still enjoyed the story & didn’t realize who had done it until the big reveal. Christie was such a clever storyteller. Many of her cases seem like they are mysteries that are “over done” these days but that is because she is the original and everyone else is just copying from her.

Agatha Christie book 3! I've been alternating Christie novels with something (literally anything) else because sometimes I binge a series, and it makes me more critical of that series. I don't know if Christie is just that good or if my strategy is helping, but holy cow! am I enjoying these books!
The Body in the Library is another Miss Marple mystery. This one is told in the 3rd person omniscient, with a significant part of the story told about events that Marple doesn't witness. There are lots of twists and turns, and most of the characters are either likeable or at least sympathetic.
Audiobook narrator Stephanie Cole is generally pretty good. I don't know if I love her voice for Marple herself, but she's much, much more enjoyable than Richard E. Grant, who narrated my first Marple mystery. I'll give Cole 4.5 stars.
Note: I read the dual edition Poirot Investigates & The Body in the Library, but I wanted to track & review the two books separately.

I'm not mad that I read it, but I will say that it did keep losing my attention. I like her stand alone books better I think rather than the Marple or Poirot series.

I’d like to say one day I will figure it out myself but I never will.
My first Agatha Christie book after many plays - a solid twist/solution but I found the writing overly descriptive and clunky
