Fourth in the Kitty Norville series this one brings Kitty back to Denver and out of exile. I liked that Kitty was able to work through the issues of her past and reconcile who she was with who she is now. I think this was a nice and light read filled with action and emotion.

This has by far been my favorite book in this series. I absolutely loved this one.

So long as you don't expect anything other than fluffy werewolf/romance/adventure fun, then it's an excellent brain-candy read. The writing is light and not taxing and easy to power through. These are the books I pick up when I want to turn my brain off for a while and just enjoy something silly and fun.

When I finished this, all I could do was AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! and run around a lot. Only I don't run, so it was more like speedwalk into walls. I had a minor psycotic break. Nothing to see here.

Ok, so, if you're failing to notice, my reviews are spoiler city. So be forewarned.

I was freaking out at the end, and the weird thing was I was happy and sad at the same time. I LOVE Ben, like, a LOT. He's freaking amazing =) But a very, very large part of me was rooting for Kitty and Cormac. I feel so bad, especially since he had an, erm, crush on Kitty and Ben knew. But mleeeef.

I think Ben's gonna die =( I just get this horrible feeling that he's going to die, because it's called the Kitty Norville series (not that that matters much), it's only half way through the series, and that would make Kitty's life too easy. Or they're going to call of the SPOILER engagement.

But I love this book 0-0 Like, a lot.

I don't know why this book sat on my shelf for so long! Since the first book, I have loved this series!

After refusing to help Rick get rid of Arturo, which would also require facing Carl and Meg, Kitty is forced to go back to Denver when her mother goes in for a lumpectomy. Bound and determined to stay under the radar, Kitty is approached by the agent of a famous Broadway leading lady. Seems as though she wants to "come out of the closet" about being a vampire on Kitty's show! Unfortunately, that means admitting that she is, in fact, back in town. It doesn't seem to cause too many issues, until an abused, blond werewolf shows up at KNOB. After facing abuse from Carl for a long time, Kitty feels a strong kinship to this young girl and wants to help her. And, that, is the beginning of the end.

In Kitty Takes a Holiday, I seriously wondered about Kitty being with Ben. They seemed to work, but . . . . Well, I wanted her with Cormac! I felt that this book was able to address the issues surrounding Ben and Kitty and manage to sort them out. With Cormac in prison, Ben was able to slid into that role while still being true to himself. The audience could definitely tell that the cousins spent a lot of time hunting together; however, it was obvious that Ben was not a cold blooded killer. However, he has some serious balls when the need rises!

I liked that Vaughn added in Jenny. Honestly, there was no way to make Kitty stand up to Carl and Meg. Even though she no longer wanted to be a part of that pack, she would rather run away and not face them. Meeting Jenny and trying to save her was the only thing that could have pushed Kitty to that point. And, at some level, it was inevitable if she wanted to stay and help her family.

I was a little disappointed with the final confrontation between Rick and Arturo. I completely understand why it happened the way it did, but I was hoping for more of a vampire knock-down-drag-out.

Carl finally showed his true colours. A bully is nothing but a coward when actually confronted and cornered. He wanted nothing more than to save his own skin, and I'm not surprised. Even though I would have liked Kitty to kick his ass, the way it ended was fitting.

It was nice to see that she decided to follow in Ahmed's footsteps with New Moon ^_^

Loved it! I had missed Kitty and her radio show, in books 2 and 3. Still loved them, but this book really did it for me. It was a fast read for me, I couldn't put it down. In between I would listen to the Audible version. I highly recommend this series.

I am not a huge fan of the Kitty/Ben relationship, and I think it is clearly written in a way that suggests Kitty is right, and they wouldn't be together except for the werewolf thing. I also thought that the takedown theme of this book was weaker than it should be. She required a lot of help and luck to become the alpha here. I was not convinced that she is really strong enough to lead. She was SO weak and pathetic in book one that I'm not sure any of the pack would have willingly followed her without a bigger display of strength.

I enjoy these stories from Carrie Vaughn, and only partially because they take place in Colorado. The reader on this one took me a bit to get used to, and not sure I really did - her accent is just too precise for Colorado (in my opinion). Look forward to what happens next for Kitty.
