Larsson is consistent with the book's theme revolving around the exploitation of women. In this book the protagonist's character is further developed. Definitely a powerful character that is enjoyable to read. A good instalment for the series.

They drink a lot of coffee in Sweden. And, Stieg Larssen writes awesome books.

This book took me literally a month to finish… I could not get into it, which really disappointed me because I was absolutely obsessed with the first book. It took me until chapter 20 to actually start enjoying it. I think there were lots of characters that were hard to keep straight and lots of buildup that took awhile. That being said, the final 10 chapters of the book were sooo good, which is why I’m still giving it 3.5 stars. There’s one more book in the trilogy, hopefully that one picks up for me a little quicker.

This was my favorite book of the series. We get to see Lisbeth in a completely new setting and kind of opening up a little bit around people as well as getting a better understanding of her past. I love that the scenery changed but that Lisbeth hadn’t changed her ways completely. We also get to see Blomkvist continue his journalism awesomeness in that he inadvertently or purposefully likes to take down the corrupt.
I couldn’t read this one fast enough. I kept wanting to skip ahead a little bit to see if what I thought was going to happen was true. I wasn’t prepared for the last few chapters. It was one of the most amazing cliffhangers that I had ever read.
