This book is a rough read, though technically competent in a lot of ways the author makes some very odd choices about what details to include and how to structure the story.

It is more character driven than the first, but Larsson choices to run full tilt away from the action and excitement at the core of the story over and over in this book choosing instead to talk about what brand new characters are doing. This makes this book fairly frustrating to read. There were maybe two moments that really pulled me in hard and the big one get ignored for two hundred pages before it is explored (in a paragraph of summary) at all. There is building suspense and then there is just wasting you readers time and squandering their good will. This book does far more of the second than the first.

Because a lot of poor choices were made in this book, and even though it is a more well crafted piece of writing than the first in many ways, I definitely didn't see the same spark that pulled me through the messy parts of its predecessor in this.

What an ending. That cliffhanger?!? I didn’t expect that considering book one had a conclusion and didn’t leave it wide open! Wow! Now I’m going to have to pick up book three and continue this crazy journey! Salander, I’m coming for you in book three! Hold tight!

This one was a bit slower than the first, at least for the first 2/3rds of the book. Not in any way subpar or bad; the first one just compelled me a bit more. I also really didn't get the whole math thread running through this one, but that's ok. Really glad I had the third one on hand and ready to go!

This book is just as attention-grabbing and action-packed as the first book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

At the end of the first book, Lisbeth doesn’t want anything more to do with Mikhail, but this time she is in trouble and Mikhail has to prove her innocence for a brutal triple murder. The odds are stacked against her, but with Mikhail’s tenacity and fortitude, and the help of a few friends, right is on their side.

Book on CD narrated by Simon Vance. On to book #3.

The sequel felt like it took a while to take off. The twists were unexpected which was much appreciated.

Definately a good read if you liked the first one. I found it not as haunting as the first book. But with more action. Having seen the movie, I knew the big reveal about the title but it didn't lose any of it's horror or tragedy.

I feel like I shouldn’t like these books and yet I was so rapt! Can’t wait for the conclusion and thankfully it’s on the shelf, ready to go
