Such a beautiful book about an eternal loving experience not only from a spouse but from your creator too. I definitely recommend.

I don’t vibe with the Christian element of the plot. However the main character (Angel) trauma reactions and behavior is on point. Her slow acceptance of her value and worth are believable and well written.
I really liked Hosea. He was understandably human and yet the way he was portrayed as a Christian was great. He was not perfect and he did the best he could given the situation.
Angel was lovely. She was untrusting but because we understood her point of view, it was easy to sympathize with her.
the author had no trouble showing the readers that she could make her characters suffer. It happened within the first chapter and I was actually a little taken a back.
Issues I had with it
-As Christians, we are called to marry someone we are equally yoked with. Don't date with the intention to preach to the spouse. It will not end well.
-I hope people do not get their theological nourishment from books. Just in case someone does I think that I have to give fair warning that the voice of God is in the Bible. Not in your heart and people need to stop expecting to hear it in the wind.
-The only trouble I had was that she was so pretty people had trouble looking away. That seems to be a reccuring theme in many books and I dislike it. I could have done without it.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is a powerful and captivating novel that masterfully intertwines themes of love, forgiveness, and redemption. Set in the 1800s during the California Gold Rush, the story follows the life of Angel, a young woman trapped in a life of prostitution and unimaginable pain.
What sets this book apart is the author's ability to create multi-dimensional characters that readers can deeply connect with. Angel, the protagonist, is a complex and flawed individual who undergoes an incredible transformation throughout the story. Rivers beautifully portrays her journey from a broken and hardened heart to a place of healing and redemption.
The romance that unfolds between Angel and Michael Hosea, a deeply spiritual and compassionate man, is both tumultuous and tender. Their relationship serves as a vehicle for exploring the power of unconditional love, despite the challenges and obstacles in their path. The author skillfully weaves together elements of faith, forgiveness, and personal growth to create a love story that feels authentic and meaningful.
What impressed me the most about Redeeming Love is the way it tackles difficult topics such as abuse, shame, and the struggle for self-worth with grace and sensitivity. Rivers does not shy away from depicting the harsh realities of Angel's past, but ultimately, the novel offers a message of hope and the possibility for a brighter future.
The writing style in Redeeming Love is vivid and engrossing, transporting readers to the dusty landscapes of California and immersing them in the story. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of intense action and quiet introspection, keeping readers invested and eager to turn the pages.
While some readers might find the book's overtly Christian themes and religious undertones overwhelming, it is important to note that these elements are at the core of the story. For those who appreciate Christian fiction or are open to exploring religious themes, Redeeming Love offers a deeply spiritual and inspiring narrative.
Overall, Redeeming Love is a compelling and emotional read that stays with you long after you've turned the final page. It explores themes of love, forgiveness, and redemption in a way that is both thought-provoking and heartwarming. Whether you are a fan of historical fiction, romance, or Christian literature, this book is sure to leave a lasting impact.
