Wow! What a great read. Not a dull moment.

The story was fun to read but I picked this us because I was interested in the retelling of the biblical allegory in Hosea, and to me it seemed to only resemble that in a very basic, structural way. I think for the most part Francine Rivers used the idea to tell a nice story about love between a man and a woman, I do not think it is incredibly descriptive or accurate of the biblical account describing the relationship between God and His people. Of course there are religious overtones, especially about forgiveness, I just don't think it is exactly the same message that I get from reading Hosea in the Bible, not that it has to be. Being Christian Fiction it is certainly not explicit, but I do think that Rivers was at times unnecessarily creative in her attempt to create a dark past for Angel, although not in an offensive way. I think it was a bit of a let down after all the hype on the cover and the accolades inside of the book.

This story was beautiful. It truly shows how you are never too broken. God is still madly in love with you no matter what you’ve done, he cares for you!

I was really enjoying the book but the more it went on, the more preachy it got and I don't mind a good moral message but I prefer it to be a little less pushy and outward, but I did think the overall story was interesting and the message was a good message.

5/5. This book was so beautifully written and, not to be dramatic, it changed my life immensely. Such a remarkable story about finding faith in God and in doing so, finding yourself. *I changed this from. 4.5/5 to a 5/5 because after lots of time to reflect from this book, I find myself already planning to read it again on top of recommending this book to a lot of people*

This book was really good and something I highly recommend. It is all about what true redeeming love, and how a part from God there is no true redemption. The book was beautifully written and an inspiring read. The characters are awesome and any reader can relate to at least one of the characters.

Though you deny me, I love you with an everlasting love.

dude, this was a rollercoaster of emotions! picture this: michael hosea meets angel and bam! he's head over heels, willing to spend all his gold dust just to talk, to get to know her. talk about dedication, right?

angel's got this tough exterior from a rough past, and love is like a curse to her. she's been through so much that giving anything more than her body seems impossible. but michael doesn't back down, trusts in the Lord, and loves her like no other. i mean, he waits three years after she ran away three times! that’s some next level commitment.

the whole story is a wild ride of redemption. we're all sinners, and the book hammers home that the Lord’s love is relentless, forgiving even the stuff we think is unforgivable. it's a journey, man, making you question your judgments and teaching you to forgive. i'm usually judgy, but this book slapped some sense into me. who am i to judge when nobody's perfect? and forgiving? yeah, it's tough, but God forgives all the time, so why shouldn’t we?

the epilogue ties it up beautifully, showing how good God is. it's a 5-star read, hands down. life lesson and all, you know? it'll hit you in the feels and make you shout, “thank you, Jesus!” seriously, you gotta check it out!

Though fallen low, God raised her up—an Angel.
