i honestly enjoyed this book even if it was a bitch to get through. like i was truly fighting for my life to get through this, but i did it

Longest book I’ve ever read but I easily got through it. Just wish the events happened in chronological order and that the ending wasn’t ass. The ending doesn’t clear up any questions nor was it satisfying enough, probably just enough to make you want to read the next book in the series. Will I read the second one…. Maybe… but I’ll probably put it on my want to read list then forget about it. This book wasn’t a complete shit show like some reviewers thought but I can understand some points based on the ending bc they leave you hanging and Gabriel loses all his morals and previous motivations in the last 20 pages. Would have given this 5 stars if it wrapped everything up in a satisfying way even if it wasn’t a “happy ending” ( I wasn’t expecting a happy ending but the plot got so convoluted it just seemed like the story was just broken up into several books instead of just ending. Vampire homie literally said I’m done writing this story see you tomorrow to finish up like and Gabe said ok. Huh like what an ass way to end a book)

Este libro me parece una obra de arte. Tendrá sus detractores, como todos los libros de este hombre, pero la forma de narrar de Jay Kristoff está más allá de cualquier comprensión mundana. Es, simple y llanamente, oro puro.
Y lo digo yo, que soy una humilde lectora española que, casualmente, entiende el inglés.
Tengo muchas, muchísimas preguntas, para este hombre ahora mismo. Pero cualquier alusión a ellas sería considerado spoiler y no quiero decir nada porque es un libro que la gente debería disfrutar sin conocer nada en general.
No voy a engañar, es un libro de +700 páginas que, en ocasiones, se puede hacer un poco cuesta arriba porque te da muchísima información, mientras salta del pasado lejano, al pasado cercano y al presente. No es que cueste acostumbrarse, pero cuando estás metido en una parte de la historia, el propio Gabriel decide que no quiere contarte más de eso y salta a otra parte.
Es que es brillante que te esté narrando una historia así, que recuerda a "El Nombre del Viento" de Patrick Rothfuss.
En fin, tengo muchas ganas de poder leer la continuación y saber qué está pasando porque, de verdad, es un libro que abre demasiadas incógnitas.

A great read. Different from most novels I have read as it was written by a male author but it made the plot seem more refreshing with greater emphasis on the horrors of war opposed to the romance storylines that are in most books I read.
