normally i only log books in if i reached at least 15 percent, to minimize my dnfs. the reason i put this in so early was bec i was genuinely so excited and wholeheartedly believed theres no way i wouldnt be able to finish it. however. as much as i liked the main premise (jk i was skeptical) the amnt of religious imagery was enough to put me off for good. i thought i could push through, i cant. ill try my luck with a different vampire book

loved loved loved this. kristoff’s take on vampire lore is incredibly interesting and something that i’ve never considered before. my only qualms are

the fact that this doesn’t have a satisfying ending - for how long this book is it’s a bit annoying that i need to read another two books to reach any major plot conclusions - and gabriel’s decision to save dior. his motives do make sense for his character, but im personally not a fan of the trope where a character is willing to doom the WORLD for the sake of one life

Y Juan Fran (no es broma, Juan Fran es un personaje del libro) dijo cuéntame una historia Gabriel y Gabriel pillo todo lo pop, lo metió en una batidora y contó su vida, y no hay ningún problema en ello, quitando el final que es muy "pos ok, sigamos mañana". La manera en la que está narrado me ha parecido muy interesante con saltos entre tercera y primera persona y diferentes tiempos y el world building sobre todo la religión y los clanes
