This book was good. It kept me entertained and interested. This wasn't my favorite in the series. The characters were alright, the relationships were fine, and the plot had a few twists.

I do feel like this book should have been a little earlier in the series because it explains ALMOST ALL of Amanda's behavior towards Will. I don't like it but it makes so much more sense now. And I think Kitty and Angie conspired to kill Will's dad

  • The text is divided into two plotlines: present day and '74/'75. I enjoyed the present day parts much more, mainly because the other plot was absolutely full of slurs and -isms.
  •  ...which is realistic for the police force in Atlanta, Georgia in the 70s, and one of the themes of the book are race and gender issues in the police. Still, it wasn't for me.
  • The nature of the crimes is pretty unique and interesting, and i liked the last third of the book with all its turns and tense scenes the best.
  • Overall: Probably gonna unhaul this one as soon as i need space on my shelves, apart from a couple of action scenes and some moments with Amanda Warner it didn't work for me.
