I wish I could give this one the usual four stars, but alas that's not the case. Slaughter's usual heavy but enjoyable prose felt achingly slow in this tale and didn't keep my interest. The storyline switches back and forth between timelines and although there is a big payoff at the end - and it is one hell of a payoff - it just didn't seem to warrant the laborious exposition. Had it not been for that ending, this would have been two stars. I'm hoping for a back to business as usual in #7...

Wow!  Just wow. 

Finally back in it. We got some answers in this one that I have been waiting on. I loved it. But I also let my guard down and KS got we at the end. As she always does
