Eve Babitz is so deliciously dramatic, and she makes everything—even the most mundane things like the shuttle from the Albuquerque airport—feel romantic and lovely, as if out of a dream. A few of the pieces I particularly loved included "Sunday, Blue Pool, Sunday," "Skin Deep," and "I Was a Naked Pawn for Art." My only critique is that I don't know why we had to put a foot on the cover. Like, was that really necessary... Anyways.

Eve Babitz‘s pieces for magazines and other publications are different from her other books. Though her tone and voice is the same, her writing is way less risqué and personal, as one would expect. She still writes with a passion and about the same topics, but not so fun as her other works.
