This book started out ok. Then I reached the end and it was bad. Like really bad. I felt like it came out of nowhere, nothing in the whole book led up to that ending. It was unsatisfying and was only there for shock value. And it didn't even shock me.
There is only one POC character and even though the racism he experiences is brought up, it isn't actually explore very well.
Also mental illness was used as a plot device.

The first half is good, but then the liars keep acting weird and bam the plot. Over all this book is highly entertaining and does not require much thinking. Since the whole book is about the plot, maybe i won't read it again.

This book is very good but definitely YA. I am not 100% sure how I feel about the authors writing style, but I loved the story and the way the plot twist was done. I also think this did a good job of bringing to light issues that we don't necessarily think about like racism among liberal white people and addiction. I might not recommend this book to a friend or reread it, but I definitely enjoyed reading the first time around.

I didn’t think that the author built the characters enough to be lovable, but they were given lots of background. It was a great read if you need to cry.
