Eighty-seven chapters of whining and complaining about parents kissing ass for their trust funds.  And why not have the dogs die in a fire the main character set… riveting stuff.

It’s one of the best emotional thrillers that I have read, themes of grief and family are the main focus of this book. It is a must-read for every human being out there.

I'm a bit conflicted on how to rate this one, because I liked the characters (the liars at least) but I guess I would have prefered a little bit of an open ending? I had a hunch after a while but was still surprised toward the end.
Not the biggest fan of the whole amnesia trope sometimes, however I get that trauma and or head injuries can severely impact you, make you misremember or blend out certain things.

positive:
-the whole family dynamic was really interesting
- ig some of the issues Gat was experiencing among a very white family was pretty relatable. Good for discussions about racism and classicism
-subtle hints but not too many to make it annoying
- the names of the dogs
- Cady's personality really shines through the narrative
-non-linear plot but not too confusing

negative:
-please find something more creative of a comparision than strong coffee. pleeeease. After the third time it really made me cringe

I don't know if it is because I am already depressed, but I had a really hard time connecting with this book, and I found the ending to be really really depressing.
