4.75 stars! I loved this book, after reading paper towns and having a hard time getting through it I thought I wouldn't like this one. But it was quite the opposite. I enjoyed the mental health aspect and also the romantic plot of it. Only thing that 'bothered' me is that the mystery aspect wasn't executed to its full potential. All in all I really enjoyed it, it made me sad but in a happy way!

This was my second time reading this book, and it hit in a whole new way. I have a lot of admiration and gratitude for the courage John Green had to write the explicit thoughts of Aza Holmes. The internal conversations between invasive thoughts and reality are raw, real, and beautifully constructed. This book isn't written for the plot, but to explain the thoughts and spirals that come with someone struggling with mental health. I'd recommend it to anyone.

It goes on. I am speechless after reading it in one go. Just glad they didn't die in the end.

Wow! Turtles All the Way Down is so extremely heavy. Early on I immediately felt like I wasn’t the target audience for this. It seemed very YA in the beginning / high school focused. I quickly began to change my mind. I found Aza relatable as someone with mental health issues. Although, the escalation as the book went out felt devastating. At some point, I found myself thinking Daisy is a terrible friend, but the more I thought on it it’s just really the fact that Daisy doesn’t understand mental illness and certainly didn’t understand the level to which Aza struggled with it. Aza and Davis’s friendship/ relationship development was so sweet. I felt the ending was really fitting for the story.
