Had to read this for a school project, gotta admit, I am quite impressed with it!!
I loved the stories about the social causes, the way the author describes the pain and suffering, the Bollywood was quite interesting too (though I somehow doubt it happens IRL).
This book is most definitely a must read.

Finally, I also got to read this book. Yeah, so I was introduced to this novel by one of its short story clip called *Cattle Class* in a newspaper and since then I had my eyes on it. So I bought this two book twice but always as a gift for others. I don't know why I didn't read it before gifting

"Confidence doesn’t mean that everything will go our way. It simply gives us the ability to accept failures that we will inevitably meet on our path and move forward with hope." - Sudha Murthy
.
My thoughts:
The book is a memoir from Sudha Murthy's Life & consists of 11 short stories. She shares stories about her experiences from her childhood with her grandparents, from the time she joined an engineering college where she was the only female student among 100s of male students & later her experiences as the chairperson of Infosys foundation. Every story was beautiful, heart touching & so inspiring for me. Most of them made me very emotional, may it be crying my eyes out or high with happiness.
.
I had 1st seen Sudha Murthy when she had come on KBC. I knew about her before then but seeing her on TV, listening to her talk was so amazing & inspiring. Even after being so successful & at the top, she is such a simple & humble human being and I was completely in awe of her. Those same qualities were reflected in the book & it completely lived upto my expectations. I absolutely love her!❤
.
Usually in the past whenever I have read books with multiple short stories I have loved some, liked some & disliked some from those in one book. But in this book I loved each of the 11 stories hence the 5

The book has been a decent read with a quite a number of stories that makes you witness the plight of individuals living across various sections of the society and the way they are deal with it, making their way through the dark tunnel.
The storytelling throughout the book has been pretty good, it does makes you flow along and makes you feel all the emotions that were intended to brought to your attention through their narration. Undoubtedly, the author (Sudha Murthy) does master the flawless art of storytelling and it makes you want to flow with it.
The book does hold things to absorb and reflect over. It definitely is a good read, with a great section of different stories witness in the authors journey at Infosys Foundation.
A decent read for anyone who would want to experience a fair deal of good storytelling.

I have a very good friend whose husband worked in Infosys. She was the one who told me about Sudha Murthy and her philanthropy and also about the fact that Sudha Murthy was also a very simple, genuine and inspiring personality. I forgot all about it and the years passed until a month back ,I happened to watch a video of her speech at a function in an educational institution. Her speech was clear, simple, to the point and motivating. My interest was piqued and I decided to start reading her books starting with this one.
The book is a collection of stories about Mrs. Murthy's experiences and the people she meets as part of her job as chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. Each story has a lesson in it and my favorite was the one which described her work with the devadasis of the Renuka temple in Karnataka.
A truly inspiring and motivating read.
