informative slow-paced

read it for class...
pros:
  • actually goes deep into complexities of the public sector and how no countries have a pure administration style that is ideologically one way or another. laid out very nicely through graphs as well.
  • brings an example for every single claim! even if i found them boring a lot of the time they are simplistic enough for grasping or very relevant in the wide scope of public administration
  • although not that simple to do it still attempts to connect every theoretical standpoint with the three models (NPM, NWS, NPG) which also helps understand them better
  • good comparative analysis between 12 countries and the European Commission
cons:
  • no way in hell i would ever read this snoozefest on my own time
  • especially the first chapter was just awful to read, i remember not understanding anything from it
