It's a good romance book with a lot of talk about metal health and I love that !
The characters are also older than what you would usually see (like they are in their thirties which is cool). You should know though it talks about miscarriage at some point.
But if you are okay with that I have loved this relationship !

I’ve always been a softy, but this hit some pressure points for me. Props for addressing social anxiety and depression in a modern romance. I love the fake dating trope.
Check the trigger warnings.

Another fantastic book from this author! Such a great cast of characters and some laugh out loud moments! The main plotline of the fake dating between Briana and Jacob was so cute and sweet, as they were both dedicated to the ruse and seemed to naturally support each other in the ways that each needed. Both were deeply scarred by their previous partners. Briana being emotionally traumatized by her father leaving when she was young added another layer to her distrust of men. Jacob is just the ideal teddy bear for her, as he is dedicated to his large family and his role as an uncle. Yes, there are some predictable moments in the plot, but they are so well-written that it doesn't matter. It was fun to see how things played out.

As before, the author includes some serious topics so there's a real-life aspect to the plot, not just a sweet romance. In this book, she addresses chronic kidney disease, organ donation, infidelity, abandonment, miscarriage, and panic attacks. Again she addresses each appropriately, using sensitivity readers and mental health advisors, according to her author's note (kudos for this!).

The beginning and end of this book were very strong. There was a bit too much wishy-washy miscommunication and pining in the middle. There were a couple spots near the end that actually made me cry a little. I also really believed that Briana and Jacob were perfect for each other and Jacob was a fantastic love interest.

Maybe if I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more 😭😭

CW: infidelity, chronic Kidney disease, insecurity trope, anxiety, pregnancy/pregnancy loss, suicide, and ER scenarios.

“You know how much I hate that everyone expects me to bounce back just like that”. Every time I picked up this book I heard the chorus of labyrinth spin in the back of my head. “Oh no, I’m falling in love again . Oh, I’m falling in love. I thought the plane was going down, how’d you turn it right around?”

Gosh Miss Abby Jimenez has hit out of the park (again). I didn’t realize this was connected to her previous novel “Part of Your World”. So when I did, my excitement increased.

I really, truly feel I love with this novel. The way both of these characters felt real and raw was incredible. There relationship absolutely adorable. From minor work place rivals to real genuine friends and then slowly falling for each-other while fake dating one another.

I think their friendship in the beginning set up perfectly. Luke how can you not root for this pen-pals. Like how do I date a real man when Jacob Maddox exists? The whole scene with the couch? AH! I just found Brianna to be this multi-layer character. I love how she listens to Jacob, doesn’t treat him any different and supports his needs. Very patient and sunshine to other big slowly losing it on the inside. I totally can’t relate 😅

I loved everyone second of the audiobook. I couldn’t get enough.
