Great book, short read. loved the story line, although got a little overdone with the 'he murded my family'... looking forward to the next book in the series

A quick read, seems similar to many other books and also predictable but still enjoyed it… was not surprised that the main female character ends up being so powerful and so important…not to mention will probably end up with the prince

The concept of the affinities is interesting, but mostly this was average. I enjoyed reading it, but  Ilara seems to flip flop in her thoughts on the prince with zero explanation so frequently that it doesn’t make sense.

It was a good book, Ilaras indecisiveness was the most annoying thing ever though unfortunately, and I think the book tried too hard to world build, it definitely didn't come naturally. But it was a good story and I will be reading the next book in the series
