Another hilarious story from Huda Fahmy. This story is about sisterly bonding and a family trip to Disney World. I love how her characters highlight a Muslim family and showcase the vulnerability a teen with this religion may struggle with. But it also reaches relatable across religions with everyday struggles such as family & the desire to fit in. Some of the jokes in this one felt more juvenile to me than the first book & I didn’t love her two warring subconscious Huda’s on her shoulder. I wish they had been easier to discern from each other than they were in the illustrations and it just took away from the overall level of funniness for me. While I still loved this one and will 💯 read more if Huda writes more, I didn’t love this as much as Huda F Are You?

Another lovely little graphic novel, this time focusing on the sister relationships as the entire family travels to Disney world. I loved getting to see the sisters grow closer together and fight for each other as they learned that maybe they aren't as different as they thought. It's definitely a great family driven story, featuring lessons important for both the reader and Huda herself. I wouldn't mind more books in this series because they are all fun, diverse reads!

"Huda F Cares" is the perfect follow-up to "Huda F are you." This book has the same charm, wit, and humor as the first book, but instead of following Huda through the school year, the story is about Huda and her family on a summer road-trip to an amusement park. As a non-Muslim reader, I found this book to act as a mirror to my own experience with self-acceptance and familial love in my teen years, while simultaneously acting as a window into the American-Muslim identity. I highly recommend this book for its empathy-building and humorous nature.
