This was a cute, heartwarming, feel good romance I listened to on KU.
I loved Tanner and Cybil together, and I appreciated there wasn’t any miscommunication or any cheating or drama going on, where it could have easily been done. It was sort of like reading a hallmark movie if you know what I mean. It was easy and made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So why not a higher rating?
It all comes down to:
1. The characters loving each other after one week of knowing each other.
2. Not enough character development.
3. Pregnancy at the end.
Just because someone is in love, doesn’t mean that you have to automatically make them pregnant!!! After a month of knowing each other!!!! And they were on birth control!!!!!
The end honestly made for the lower rating. It was a steady 4 star book until 70% of the book where they become over the top in love with each other.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to characters finding each other attractive and liking each other after a week, but the I love yous? Ugh. Let there be some time where they know more about each other to actually know they love each other!!
And again, the pregnancy… ugh.
That said, it’s a nice book to listen to or read. Hallmark vibes all the way and if you’re into that, have a read. You won’t be disappointed!

Cybil was jilted by her fiancée and still doesn't understand why, that being said her small town in Oregon has noting but pity in their eyes and she has a couples adventure trip that she paid for because her ex-fiancée wanted to attend. Cybil is not an adventure type of girl but she is going and going to embrace the experience even if she is the only single one in the couples retreat.
Tanner sees Cybil the night before he is the host of the couples retreat for his wilderness adventure service with his best friends. He had no clue that Cybil was the single woman who is on the retreat and the brief interaction and she didn't seem to be a big fan. Tanner though is assigned to her as his partner and while he has never gotten involved with someone but everything about Cybil tells Tanner she is something special. What happens though once the adventure is over, they live in two different states and only have know each other a week?
Loved this, was humorous, romantic, and a pure delight to read. This is going to be a terrific new series.

This was a quick, cute, fun read; I will say jt was incredibly fast paced, and a few time jumps not explaining how we got to that point.
