This was a random find at the library but it really captivated me omg !!! Why was everyone in her life so shitty like her husband, her ex, and her best friend all sold her out šŸ§ Iā€™d invest in a gun at that point! Something I noticed that I think might be a generational thing (me being in my early twenties and these people being in their mid to late forties) is how much they drank omg every conversation she had she would drink wine and no one mentions it.  I thought itā€™d be more rom com ish but it was pretty serious and intense

Iā€™m a sucker for emotional roller coasters. Dan & Rachelā€™s relationship takes a rocky turn and gets even messier when her high school- now move star ex-boyfriend returns to the scene, Jack Bellow. Over a decade in the past, a marriage and two kids between them- I was still stunned by how this story ended. I really expected this story to be a lot cheesier than it was. I feel like this book could have taken a much more serious turn but the romance won out in the end. Not mad just tense from the whole situation šŸ«£

I kept seeing this being recommended, but I wasn't a huge fan, but I did enjoy the author's writing style and how well it all flows. I was expecting it to be more of a mystery than a romance, so I imagine bigger fans of romance would enjoy it more!

This was a great debut book that explores the life of Rachel who life is content one minute and turned upside down the next and makes her question her whole life. I liked how this story explore the complications of a marriage, how tough it is to be a working mom. The added celebrity ex-boyfriend added a great element to the story. This is not a romance story which I thought I was getting but I did enjoy it and wanted to see which path Rachel chooses.
