Better than the other 3 but it’s still lacking in the « strong female lead » department.

This is 4th book of Cate teirnan and I liked it. It was about how Morgan adjusted to her magick, her guilt that she killed Hunter. This is book where she start doubting everything she had. There so many secrets revealed. This book proved that how Morgan was a powerful witch and came to know mor about her mom's history. I wanted a little more of Bree her but still it was good. I felt what she went through the whole book..Love , shock, guilt, betrayal. I like the way Cate Tiernan deals with good and bad side. Its all about choices. I never much liked witches but after reading her book I want to read more. Her character development is just great. I loved from the starting and I just kept wishing she end with Hunter and now I can see the possibility.. I loved her scene with Hunter! I am ready for the 5th book. Way to go Morgan and Hunter..LOve ya

Evil forces are after Morgan, forces connected with a dark wave of magick.
---------------------

This book got waaaaaaaaaaayyyy better. Lots of more action, more questioning (in a good way), and overall a much better improvement to the slow-paced predecessors in the series. I think that I'm starting to like the potential that this story has. We got to explore not only Morgan and her current coven, but the new characters introduced in the past books, as well as the new coven that surged with ex-members of Cal's coven.

SpoilerI also liked that in the end, there seems to be a possible future reconciliation of Bree and Morgan, I liked them as friends, not as enemies.

Been reading these books in spans of hours!! Seems like I have nothing better to do... which I don't.

The Wiccan mindmelds were cool! Also I like how Cal's storyline turned out. Great book in its genre.

This volume finally has some action! Emotional turmoil happens, but so do things! Actual plot-type things!

In my head, the first three books in this series have bled together into one big set up for Dark Magick (helped partly by the fact that I saw the big "twist" coming from the beginning). Unfortunately, while we finally learn who's evil in this book we get to wait even longer to find out about motives.

This should all have been one book, seriously.

I read this book series as a teenager and it keeps you engaged the whole time. It always ends on a cliffhanger which is why I’m glad it’s 2023 and I can just keep rolling through them. If you do stack them, it can get a bit repetitious. I am impressed by its ability to describe queer love as just a part of normal life— not a main plot point but a component none these less.  I’m so appreciative of it doing so in its time but hate that I am impressed by it? Which is a personal problem I suppose. I’m looking forward to the next book.
