The Final Gambit was a thrill to read for me, because it is an excellent conclusion to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the mysteries and riddles in the story and reading the book as they unravel. Furthermore, the reader eventually finds out in The Final Gambit why Tobias Hawthorne chose Avery Kylie Grambs to inherit his fortune. Moreover, I enjoyed witnessing Graysonâs character development throughout the story and Jeniffer Lynn keeping the reader on their toes in regard to the love triangle between Avery, Grayson and Jameson. However, my advice for the reader is to pay attention to the family tree of the Hawthorneâs and how it relates to the Laughlin's one, because it becomes crucial in this book. Additionally, some of the pages of the book contain excessive rambling, which is why I gave the book 4 stars and not 5 stars.
If the reader does not pay attention to the family tree then it could easily become overwhelming and confusing for the reader. I would recommend this series for any reader that enjoys a storyline that contains riddles upon riddles and traps upon traps that unravel as the events of the story unfold. Furthermore, there is also a well-written love triangle and a bunch of side-romance plots.
