This book was really sweet, and I enjoyed reading it. The ending was a bit underwhelming, but it matched real life and made me think about life in a really beautiful way.
The book offered an intersection of escapism—with a scifi style premise—and an ordinary slice-of-life story.

This book was really thoughtful about the way it addresses dying and relationships. It did get very heavy at parts but I guess the warning is right there in the title. It seemed to end very suddenly which made it even more sad.

Beautifully written and full of nuggets of wisdom. A lovely story of living life, loving each other, and doing the best that you can with the time that you have. Loved the development of the characters, queer and POC representation, and just overall a great read!

I truely loved this book.
It did make me feel a bit anxious while reading it, thinking ‘why don’t I do something adventurous like them?’ ‘have I truely lived?’ ‘what if I died tomorrow?’. It was an emotional journey.
I fell in love with the characters even though I told myself not to because well, they both die at the end, but that proved impossible and I was a mess at the end.
This book has made me want to buy all of Adam Silvera’s books, that’s how much I enjoyed it.

Did I know what was going to happen and when it was going to happen? Yes. Did I still manage to cry? Also, yes.

I’m not personally a huge fan of “we fell in love in less than a day”, but it was still really cute. Mateo and Rufus were both really easy characters to enjoy, and I wish we would’ve gotten more time getting to be with them.

I loved a lot of the secondary characters too (namely the Plutos and Lidia), but I think that, even though it connected to Mateo’s and Rufus’ stories, a lot of the other perspectives were a bit distracting. I had to page through to remember characters who were only mentioned one other time in passing. It’s a REALLY cool concept, but I just have mixed feelings on it.

“Twelve hours ago I received the phone call telling me I’m going to die today, and I’m more alive now than I was then.”

Despite having the ending spelled out for me in its very title, it still made my breath catch...
