A teenage sorcerer’s apprentice must solve her boss’s murder in order to prove her innocence in this twisty, magic-infused murder mystery. It’s a family drama, mystery and a bit of a coming of age story all wrapped up in a short 250 pages.
This one was really fun and unique. The overall concept is really what sold me and I’d love to see a sequel. Only complaint is it did drag a bit despite it being only 250 pages, but I think more character development would have helped that.
But still I really liked it and would recommend it to teens getting into the fantasy genre. I did not see the ending coming and enjoyed the overall storyline.

This book was excellent from start to finish. The voice is snappy, the pacing is on point, the characters are intriguing, the world building is expansive, and the twists in plot had me continually reading more. I recommend to lovers of magical mysteries!
