I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Unexpected, dark, kind of harrowing.

DID NOT FINISH: 58%
It was predictable and had too much unnecessary sex scenes. I was reading it for a book club and didn’t get done in time. No need to finish.

I really was interested in this book and read the first half so fast. However, the last 100 pages or so did not keep my interest. I felt like the twists we're really twisting like other thrillers that I've recently read. A lot of it felt predictable to me. Despite that, I did find the book to be incredibly creepy and chilling at times.

I procrastinated starting this book for a whole year - it was meant to be read in 2022 as part of a book club. It's ironic how fast I blazed through it when I actually got started. I wasn't fond of the main character (the kinkshame-y comments earlier in the book made me instantly dislike her), or the ending, but the story itself was so addictive - there's something about discovering things alongside the main character.
