A so-so Harlan Coben. Three stars-minus. Everything about it seems tired and kind of banged-out to meet a contract. Coben falls prey to two of his big weaknesses--trying to be cute when writing a violent thriller, and loading the book up with too many plot twists and very minor characters who just kind of clutter up the story. Still, a so-so Coben is better than a whole lot of other thrillers.
Eh.
Eh.
Great mystery and great ending. I love Harlan Coben books and this one does not disappoint!
I normally love Harlan Coben. I just barely finished this one. The premise is: man dates woman for 3 months, woman dumps man and marries old flame - inviting man to wedding, series of twists, man goes on ludicrous hunt for "love of his life" despite deadly encounters and friends telling him that he's putting his, her and their lives in jeopardy. It was so ridiculous that I found it barely readable. I should probably give it a 1, but because I like Coben's other works, I bumped it to a 2.
it was good, i was totally hooked from the beginning trying to figure it out . but at about 50% it just fell, it was pretty clear what was going on and th last 50% of the book just beat around the bush. every chapter was a new huge surprise that really meant nothing. how was benedict the exception? that didnt make sense. just overall it was alot of bullshit to get to the end which i already knew and i think anyone can figure out pretty quick. it was still good though and i liked it even the ending was good but predictable too.
AMAZING. so many twists and turns until the very end!!!
