I literally couldn't put this book down. I finished it in just under 2 days, but I was a little disappointed with the ending. I feel like since the suspense had been built up throughout the majority of the whole novel, the last chapter of explanation didn't really do it justice. Still a good, quick read though

I like HC but I was underwhelmed by this one. Decent mystery/thriller though.

4/5

Ahhh we love a good binged book. Recommendation from a friend of mine - we have both read previous books by Harlan Coben.

I thought the twists and turns were pretty creative and definitely kept you guessing throughout the book. I had a lot of different theories and many of them were not super close. I would say the only thing I struggled with was when some of the characters got introduced to different names - it was hard for me to keep their stories straight.

The ending was also not my fave - but would most likely recommend to a Harlan Coben fan or a thriller/mystery fan.

I am a Harlan Coben fan and this book did not disappoint. After losing Natalie, the love of his life, to another man, Jake Fischer promises to leave his love alone to pursue her future with her new husband. 6 years later, after hearing of her husband's death, Jake begins to search for Natalie. Per usual Coben style, this books is filled with plot twists, surprises and enough intrigue that had me burning through pages. I read this in a day and a half of pure enjoyment. Murder, mystery and intrigue with out too much gore (for my friends who shy away from that kind of stuff!). I recommend this as a fun read. Perfect for the beach!

I’m not sure why but somewhere down the line I always get lost in his books. Either with the many names or the storyline. A couple of times I almost stopped reading it because I just couldn’t fathom someone putting themselves in harm's way so many times for a woman who didn’t want to be found and not to mention the old wounds people had to relive because of him. The digging and digging and digging kind of got under my skin just like the pressure he put on people. Selfishly he risked other people’s lives.

Typical Coben, unputdownable.

I typically enjoy Harlan Coben's easy-to-read, twisty plot style. This isn't profound literature, but I like reading it while floating on a raft in the pool. With that said, I somewhat enjoyed this book. It was a page turner of sorts, but the premise and the ending were beyond ridiculous. It gets two stars for keeping my interest, it loses three for eye-rolling absurdity.

It's becoming tedious to read. It starts out fine, nice mystery and humorous at the same time, but it soon becomes tedious with all the intentional delays in revealing simple things, going about it in an exaggerated round-about way, such as "and the killer is.... oh no I have to go take care of my daughter now, we will continue this conversation in about 5-6 pages of fluff..." yeah, no that is annoying. Update: I finished reading this book and I retain the 3/5.
