I can't totally relate because I've never had to care for a terminally ill loved one but the descriptions of the food and culture got to me.

I think parts of it are really beautiful and deeply emotional writing. The other parts (food descriptions) I just could not care about.
I think it's a book that you'd get if you got and won't if you didn't.
It wasn't bad, but I probably won't read it again.

Also, gave me some ideas for new recipes to try

For anyone struggling with the most unfathomable loss, reach for this. Emotive and heart wrenching, the themes of identity and loss are so intrinsically tied to grief and Michelle presents this so rawly and really.
Also, after reading listen to Psychopomp by Japanese Breakfast, you won’t regret it!
