“At that moment, I knew I would say yes to anything she needed, anything she would ask. All it took was the sound of my last name coming from her mouth.”

“Then there was the masochist in me that wanted to trap the tear that had fallen from her vulnerable eyes, to feel her pain, only to wipe it away from such a delicate creature.”

“I was hers for as long as she desired, and I was hers for as long as time gave us. “

“If you see death coming your way, tip the scales. Look at it right in the eye, smile, strike, and run until we meet again.”

“The bullet between us would soon be brought to light, leaving nothing to stand in our way.”

“She was my woman, and fuck did her strength only add more to the ways my heart beat for her.”

this. book. is. so. good. i love a good mafia read and i couldn’t put this one down. it had me feeling all the emotions. i loved how davina and ilias protected eachother so fiercely. davina is such a baddie i love her. im so excited to read book two!

I’m trying to make a myself feel guilty for skimming 50% of this book… but I just can’t.

The first half was okay, if not very very. There were some parts where I thought that I might actually enjoy the story but then I continued reading and continued suffering. Also. Why is this book written so poorly? There were countless grammatical errors and it was painful to read.

Send help.

This was all over the place. Only good things were the book cover and the dog, Boris.

There were so many moments that I would go back a few pages and see if I missed something because it made no sense. Then I realized that’s just how this was written. Honestly, most of the book is a question mark.

I think my low rating is due to the fact that for a dark romance book this was actually very light? It was an enjoyable read but at the same time just kinda lacking for me? I feel like this book would be a good introduction to dark romance books but since it's not my first and I've read some pretty f'd up things I feel like I was reading a grey romance, idk if this makes any sense tho. I think the story could've been developed in such a better way and there are some things I'd like to see more understood (the fact Ilias is only the second non-italian member of the mafia and what that could mean to him and Davina) and even the way Daniva's life was turned upside down. Also would've loved having more Martin content because with that ending it would've been amazing!

Despite the 3 stars rating I would recommend this book, it was good and I'm kinda excited for Lucca's and Katia's story!

From the very start of this book the action and intensity had me gripped, but the more I got into the chapter the more I was sucked into this world. Davina is not having a great evening and when she is left for dead, she thinks it’s the end, yet a good Samaritan saves her. She knows she in danger and a danger to anyone that she meets so with no other choice but to take a blind jump at a chance of survival has her on the run. With so many twists, turns, surprises, and steam I don’t want to give anything away because this is an experience, and this is the way to introduce us into this amazing world the author has created full of mafiosos. I couldn’t put it down dying to know what would happen next and Ilias stole my heart, but so did his brothers in their own ways. I can’t wait to see what more the author creates in this world full of angst, drama, and brotherhood!!

I think I found my new favorite author. The writing style, the story, the characters, I loved it all! Ilias and Davina are amazing characters and go amazingly together. Their chemistry is off the charts and I absolutely loved how their relationship progressed. ⁣

I have one question though. Martin. Whyyyyy????

I enjoyed this one by K Dosal. As someone who read her other series, this mafia one was well written and met my expectations.

I was a bit annoyed by the female lead. Without giving spoilers, she had too much of a weak personality for me and I didn’t connect well with her. However, Ilias was on point for me and I loved him!

Somehow this was one of my most challenging reads this year. I could forgive the choppy pacing and lack of character depth if it wasn't for the extremely unnatural phrasing and word choice used through the entire story. I was looking for a guilty pleasure read but I just couldn't get absorbed in the story because it was so jarring. I'm not a writer myself so maybe it was a stylistic choice but it was not for me.
