Frieda McFadden is an amazing mystery/thriller writer. I enjoyed the plot twists!

This was an 'ok' book. Not bad but, definitely, not great. The plot was sloppy and kinda confusing towards the end. And predictable: when we read Natalie's perspective of things and then read Dawn's messages there are so little things in common that I understood the plot. The only thing left was understanding the 'why' and when I got there it was just 'ok'.

I was expecting more.

This was my second book by this author, and once again I didn’t see the whole twist coming. I knew to be on my toes and think outside of the box, but I didn’t think it would take the turn it did. I would’ve rated this book higher if it had better characters. I found Natalie to be insufferable at times and couldn’t look past it. I also highly disliked that Dawn had very few personality traits. I get that it was part of the story for Dawn to be so dull, but it felt like a potential lack of effort on the the authors part. I’m not sure I would recommend this specific book to another reader, but I would recommend Frieda.

I was enjoying this book until the last chapter before the epilogue. It was like the author gave up on the story. There was so much more I was expecting it would unravel. Big disappointment!, especially given hopes many of the McFadden’s other books I really liked.
