I love the country of Ecotopia and how this book presents environmentally friendly solutions to many problems we encounter. The book also seems to highlight how good things could be in our country with shorter work weeks, patient forward healthcare, and so on. But, my god, I hated the main character. A really smarmy and woman obsessed horndog. It got to a point where I was skimming his diary entries as I did not care to know how he was feeling, and the love story was irritating. Also his little tantrum when his meeting with the president didn’t go well, please. All in all, it is a great book when focusing on Ecotopia and not the narrators inner “turmoil”.

Book club pick! I didn't find the story immersive because the column/diary interweaving was very "tell" and not "show". Besides, the most interesting parts of the book were completely undermined by the author's perverted idea of women's sexual freedom and overall white nonsense.

Le récit, bien qu'écrit en 1975, est tout à fait dans l'air du temps mais les rapports sociaux qu'il décrit son très hétéronormé (on peut pas tout avoir).
