I loved it, a great Christmas story. It made me laugh out loud. I love the characters and want to read more about them. Blueberry Springs is so fun, I wish I could visit.

FINALLY done!
So the gist:
Nurse Katie doesn't want to spend Christmas with her family because it's too much in a small town like Blueberry Springs. Nash Leham, a doctor and her archnemesis comes to town for two days. In those two days? A snow storm happens. Things really start to heat up, and certain truths are revealed.
Ugh!!! This series is just not for me, but I bought it, so I'm reading it.
The feminist in me is just screaming. "...he needs a good woman to tame him." Um...no? From the other two books in this series, this is pretty on point of what I'd expect𤦠I mean, I get that it's romance and it's a small town, etc, but c'mon, everybody's trying to set every single person up and get into their business?? It makes the chemistry feel kinda forced. That's kinda the problem I've been had with this series, and I think the fault may not be so much the book, but maybe with me, that I'm not really the intended reader???
Among this book's other sins:
"...some folks had thought he might be gay. Style and listening skills?"
Uh...excuse me...WHAT????
What is this, the 1950s??? These thoughts and attitudes are VERY dated!!! I just can't even!!! And that seems to show up in the other books as well. In this town, they act like you need a relationship to complete you!! I just can't! And let's not forget suggesting that being a nurse is low on the totem pole! (Nurse here).
I can't stand the people in the town, ESPECIALLY Liz and Mary Alice whose only purpose is to meddle in other people's business and try to force people together, which is a shame because you don't allow the two love interests to naturally like each other (hence the lack of chemistry).
My Takeaway and Verdict:
I can't take these books seriously. They're like very cheesy Hallmark romance movies, only a little more ridiculous. I felt like Katie and Nash lacked chemistry and everyone there annoyed me. There was NOBODY I cheered on.
I mean, it did have a good message about following your own path and going after what you wanted. Of wanting MORE and daring yourself to do it. That was good. But that message alone really wasn't enough to save the story for me this time.

This is a short and sweet story. Katie and Nash are enemies, or are they? This story has lots of laughs and enough romance to make you swoon. It is always nice to check in with the people of Blueberry Springs and see how they are all getting along. Mary Alice is still causing trouble. I would really like to be able to taste Mandy's baking because it all sounds so good. Christmas brought a few surprises can't wait to see what happens next.
I am mixed about this book. Overall I enjoyed it but it felt exceedingly fast paced and I felt like I missed a lot. Now, I know this is the third in the series but everyone I've read online and in reviews says it can be read 'out of order' so I thought it wouldn't matter when it turned out it does.
It was also a novella so a lot had to be compressed into shorter space and I get that. I read it because it's still the holiday season so I was like why not finish the year with another Christmas story. Again it was cute, it was sweet, but since this was my first meeting with the citizens of Blueberry Springs I didn't have the background or history for any of the characters or the history for Katie and Nash to really see the development of their romance. Still, it wasn't bad I kind of wish that it had been made more apparent it actually *is* better to read them in order.

I like the characters and the setting, but the romantic feelings and ending was rushed. At the beginning of book Katie couldn't stand Nash and considered him the enemy. Within a few chapters she began doubting her initial assessment, but kept trying to remind herself of it in order to deny her growing interest. The interest felt rushed. It also made me wonder if she truly knows what she wants because she spent most of the book waffling between the career she has and the one she wants. She started off strong and sure of herself, but self-doubt and trying to not disappoint others (like her parents!) removed a lot of the strength I got used to seeing and made her seem weak by the end of the book. Sure she took two big chances on love and career, but both were handed to her on a single platter called Nash.
