Apparently I read this as a child (multiple times) and then picked this up as an adult thinking I had never read it before and I had only seen the movie. I discovered pretty quickly that it was something that I enjoyed a lot as a child and maybe even more so as an adult. While it obviously was dated even when I read it in the 90s, I think it was still very relatable as a child then and even as an adult now.

I remember being disappointed in thei book overall

One of those rare occasions when the movie is better than the book.

While I adored this book as a child, it kind of leaves me flat now. This also falls into the small category of books I tried to emulate, but really I shouldn’t have. I’m lucky no one found the notebook I started when I was first reading Harriet.

I’m glad I re-read this, but won’t be keeping it in my collection.

What a sweet book! So clever and funny, and highly appropriate for children. Well, it is rather snarky, but it would be perfect for a child of my loins.

The movie followed the book pretty accurately, but Harriet was a lot meaner in the book. I like it!

I was about to read two dark audiobooks in a row, so I decided to split them up with this. Still a fantastic story. Harriet's still a brat, but you can't help liking her.
