The was an ARC through Voracious Readers Only.
Annie and her husband are in an open relationship. When she finds out she's pregnant, she also finds out one of her husband's other partners is as well.
This book is only 116 pages long and the writing is fairly smooth. The author effectively sets a scene.
So why did it take me so long to finish?
Truth be told, I don't think I'm the right audience for this story. I didn't care for the relationships or the characters. Things that should have been very thrilling bored me.
Mostly, I cringed at the idea of these people parenting.
I didn't personally find there to be any satisfaction in the way things wrapped up.
This one is probably better suited to people who enjoy personal drama and short stories.
Thanks to Voracious Readers Only and the author for sharing this work with me.

I find this book a very interesting and enlightening look into what an open relationship/marriage can look like for some folks, and the changes and feelings and realities that come with it.
“Likeness” takes you on an emotional ride through two different perspectives, and admittedly it can be a little hard to read if you’ve gone through a similar situation (speaking primarily for myself).
I will admit, Anne staying with Sebastian felt disappointing. I was hoping she’d have this moment of realizing she wasn’t happy with the relationship and seek a better life for herself with someone who felt the way she did. We do get that ending with Sandy, and I can appreciate all the feelings she described regarding her baby and being a mom.
I enjoyed reading “Likeness”, it’s give me some perspectives to ponder.
