This story was a fast-paced, action-packed ride from start to finish! The FMC is a fierce, independent badass who instantly pulls you in. There’s no shortage of magic or magical creatures—vampires, werewolves, and more. There’s a hint of spice and the potential for a slow-burn romance, which has me intrigued for what’s to come. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I’m definitely continuing the series!

This was one of the better written novels I've read on kindle. However, the usage of slang was a bit much, and even the addition of interrupting conversations with dumb (and sometimes extremely inappropriate [and I'm not talking sexual, but uncalled for] jokes), really made this novel somewhat hard to enjoy. The beginning was rough, but the conclusion was very good, it tied up the story well giving the insight into the characters and personalities that I wish the beginning introduced. Overall, I gave it two stars, cause it had redeeming qualities.

I really liked this book!
If you are a fan of Ilona Andrews and her Kate Daniels series, this is definitely the book for you. I made the mental connection between the two heroines instantly and expected things to feel repetitive, but nothing could be farther from the truth. The story sits strongly on its two feet and has nothing to do with Kate's.
I had some suspicions about the heroine's powers that proved to be wrong and this was actually quite satisfying. I would have hated to have been right! After reading so many novels, figuring it all out on the first few pages kind of takes the fun out of it, and puts more strain on other aspects of the story to carry it all the way to the finish line.
So, I have to confess that I have great expectations for this series!
Case in point I am looking forward to a bit more romance in the upcoming books! But, then again, this is not really a complaint. It would have felt forced to push things between the main characters beyond where it went and it wouldn't have fit with their character development.
I mean, our heroine is hotheaded as the best of them, has a nasty temper, and doesn't mince words, but she is certainly no idiot that jumps in front of danger or is unaware of what she is getting into in every single situation. If she goes horizontal, it will be because she decides it, not because she is struck mindless at the first sight of a yummy pair of abs.
Ta-ta, I'm off to get book number 2!

It was fun to read!
The MC was quirky, funny and Bad ass, you just have to like her. There are a lot of Great characters, like the Dual mages. Lovely … i Liked the „Vampire“ too and that there was tension, i Hope for More in Book 2 ;)
