Thank you Stephanie and Lauren for the arc!! I need to start off by stating I LOVE this hockey series and have been waiting for Alexei and Georgias story so naturally I finished this one within 24 hours.
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The banter and verbal sparring between the MCs in this one is top tier (i expected nothing less). BUT a sports romance book that makes me laugh out loud while kicking my feet and giggling? SIGN ME UP oh and the spice is spicinggggg

Georgia and Alexei
I really liked this one, it felt very unique compared to the other books that all seemed quite similar. The marriage of convenience trope I really liked and so thought the pacing from hate to love was done very well. All the scenes with all the guys and their partners I LOVED. Luca (the rookie Alexei was mentoring) is so funny lol, and seeing their relationship was very wholesome.

- marriage of convenience so she gets her inheritance and he can stay in canada
- not his watch telling him his heart rate increases when he around her hahahha
- she moves into his house
- the team organised a surprise wedding reception for them :( that’s actually so cute. them playing wedding trivia in front of everyone and getting every answer wrong was too funny
- they kissed in front of everyone at the wedding reception haha
- she snuck her 2 rabbits into his house and alexei thinks she has a secret boyfriend instead haha
- she sleep walks into his bed lol
- they share a bed when they travel for a game together, she wear lingerie to tease him and she cuddles him every night in her sleep
- he spent £100k at an auction to win a date with her because he was jealous of the other guy
- he made an instagram account and just followed georgia and a fan page for her outfits
- he drives her to soccer when her car breaks and wait until she’s done to drive her back
- alexei is mentoring Luca (the rookie) and met his parents :(
- alexei sent his mum to check on georgia when he was away so she wouldn’t be alone
- he sends a car to pick her up when hers breaks down and stays on the phone with her so she’s not alone
- he did research about sleepwalking for her :( she’s sleepwalking into his bed because she’s stressed about his injuries
- he teaches the girl’s soccer class when she’s double booked so she doesn’t have to cancel and disappoint them
- he buys her a new car and gets rid of her old unsafe one. they have a massive argument because he didn’t ask what she would want
- they both go to his life time achievement award ceremony. he gets her a custom dress, hair and makeup artist
- alexei gets her a jersey with his name on the back
- alexei bonding with Georgia’s rabbits is too cute
- he organises for the soccer girls to have a skate session with the team :(
- he wants to host the hockey guys at his with georgia
- he buys a pink crystal keychain that matches the big one she has in the house because it reminds him of her
- he gets injured in a game and she goes storming over to make sure he’s okay
- the team’s flight back before christmas is delayed so they hire a car so they can be with their partners for christmas :(
- he got a pair of shoes designed especially for her called The Georgia Shoes
- he gets knocked out at a game, he decides he can’t keep playing hockey and making her worry about his health
- he and retires and they live happily ever after

And to no one’s surprise, the book with the hate to love trope is my favorite of the series🙂↕️ And maybe even my favorite couple?
Alexei and Georgia haaate each other in the beginning, which of course leads to some great banter (I was FED!). But hate to love can go very wrong if not written correctly, especially during the transition. Does it feel forced? Is there a proper amount of emotional and physical tension? Did the characters actually grow? Does it feel more like lust than love? I won’t spoil it, but let me tell you: Alexei and Georgia’s journey from hate to love was PERFECT! They always found each other attractive (just ask Alexei’s watch that monitors his heart rate🤭), so the physical tension was there, but it was the emotional and personal growth that made this book for me.
Alexei coming to terms that he was wrong about Georgia was a big part of that. I think he truly took accountability for how he spoke to and treated Georgia, and took steps to show her he cares about her as well as respects her. This man truly embodies Acts of Service, and to see how that grows throughout the book was to heartwarming. (And don’t even get me started on the flowers🥹😭💐)
I truly can’t decide if I’m in love with Georgia or I want to be her. She is so smart, funny, and has an enormous heart! I saw myself in her, but especially in her hyper independence. While it can be a strength, it can also be difficult for her to ask for/accept help. I loved seeing her learn to trust Alexei and accept the acts of service he would do for her and know that there was no ulterior motive behind it. She also had no trouble calling Alexei out on his shit when needed, and I have so much respect for that!
Watching them become gentle and soft with each other without losing their humor or banter was so perfect for their story. I adore them and this book dearly, and I already want to go back for a reread😍❤️🔥

Their dislike of each other being based on some miscommunication was quite frustrating - I didn’t mind their original miscommunication of her not wanting to work with him and him being rude, but him continually calling her spoiled got rather repetitive to read. I understood that she didn’t want to correct him, and I wasn’t mad at her for never doing that - just getting a bit bored of them having the same arguments on repeat. There was also quite a bit of repetition in regards to them thinking about the kiss - I don’t mind them thinking about it a lot, but it felt SO often that it was just stated “I start thinking about that kiss”, as if they ever stopped.
Something also rubs me the wrong way about her calling him controlling and internally saying she hates how he’s going over her head with decisions, yet he doesn’t stop doing it until much later. I don’t know, it’s not even that I wanted him to agree to stop early on or anything, I just think “controlling” is a bit too serious of a word, and choosing to have her hate decisions being made for her doesn’t go well with the idea of it being hot, which is what was at first trying to be portrayed. I forget what exactly happened, but he made some choice for her, she called him controlling, but secretly liked it. (For a little while, before she blew up at him about the car - which, by the way, she should not have said she overreacted about.)
The second half of the book, though, was considerably more compelling. Whilst the first half fell flat, the second had me properly invested in their relationship. And I really liked the
