Just a quick note: We used the Nook to access the audio version, read by Liam Neeson. That recording (also available in the backs of some versions of the picture book as a CD or more recently the books will come with a code for a free download) is excellent. A little slow maybe, but the sound effects really help to bring this book to life. And Aslan reading a Christmas story does seem fitting somehow--even if it's not a religious Christmas story.

This book itself is too much of a classic for me to objectively rate it.

I think I was a little too jaded to read this story. I wasn’t feeling the “joy of christmas”; I was mainly annoyed and sarcastic about how much reading there was, as I was expecting a legit children’s book with maybe 20-25 words in it.

I loved this book! I read it as an adult. I never read it as a kid. The art work in the book was beautiful. I loved the overall message of believing in good things in life and that life can give you back something in return. In this case, he received the bell that rang. It is such a magical and feel good story. Perfect for the Christmas season, although I read it in July.

3.5. It's been a long time since I read this, and so I decided to reread it. As a child, I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. I did like the illustrations and the story. An imaginative story that's a Christmas classic for a reason.
