As a huge Disney fan, I was really looking forward to reading this — and was highly satisfied!! I would love to warn you though, this is not the Aladdin story you expect. The beginning starts off as usual in the movie, but there is a LOT of war, death, etc. This is what really sets it apart from the Disney version. Loved it!

Some of the prose was a little clichéd, and the dialogue didn't quite land (in particular the genie, it's difficult to write lines for such an iconic voice) but overall, it was an interesting read for an older Disney fan

Liz Brazwell took a well known and beloved story and turned it into a much darker story that captured my attention from the first introduction of the world. In this  version she somehow made Jafar more diabolical, and Jasmine more independent and powerful. Really enjoyed this one!

This was a fun ride! An alternate version of a well known story has potential to go wrong in so many ways, but I really enjoyed this particular direction! There was great attention to cultural detail that I really appreciated as well.

This book was a fun, entertaining read! It was however, annoying how long it took for them to figure out that they could just do what they did at the end.
the book could have been half as long I'd they had stolen the lamp in the first place. It made the characters feel really stupid.
