I read this as sort of a pallet cleanser from my normal high fantasy dark romance style and i didn't have high expectations but let me tell you this flew past each one. It was a really nice easy read but also an incredible story of abuse of all types and survival and love and friendship. It was written like a ya book telling this type of story to a younger audience letting them know that its okay and its not their fault and they too can survive.

I do highly recommend this book

This books is so incredibly written and detailed that it triggered my fight or flight at the climax of the robbery. I wanted to instinctively run from Duane. I wanted to dodge his attacks and flinch at every wave of his gun. I wanted to physically leave my seat and fight, even though I’d be fighting air. Tess Sharpe is a brilliant mind and did an extraordinary job when writing this book. I can’t wait to see it on screen with Millie Bobby Brown as Nora!!!
