A big "meh" on this one. It's nothing profound and it's only moderately interesting. The book is a collection of essays on regionalism and reading habits (or lack thereof). Perhaps the most interesting parts can be summed as such: there is a difference between a reading culture and a reading class and states that have greater investment in themselves (think Maine versus Illinois) have more interest in regional literature.
