”No star burns forever.”

An interesting, twisting, charming, heartbreaking story of mystery and love across the sweep of time. From the idyllic woods of 1912 British Columbia to the 25th century moon colonies, this book asks the question of “what is a life” while it craftily weaves its story lines together into the perfect answer. Life is what you make of it. So live it while you can because nothing lasts forever.

"I think, as a species, we have a desire to believe that we're living at the climax of the story. It's a kind of narcissism. We want to believe that we're uniquely important, that we're living at the end of history, that now, after all these millennia of false alarms, now is finally the worst that it's ever been, that finally, we have reached the end of the world."

I loved this book so much. It's almost impossible to penetrate my top 5 Books Ever list, but Emily St. John Mandel did it with 'Station Eleven'. I loved 'The Glass Hotel', but 'Station Eleven' was special.

I do believe that 'Sea of Tranquility' has now beat out 'Station Eleven'.

This book was so beautiful, and so well done given the complexity of the story. I blew through this book in an afternoon of reading down by the river. The book is over, I'm very sunburnt, and also a little depressed. This is one of those books that leaves you with the feeling of, 'Whelp, nothing I read after this could POSSIBLY compare, so why bother?"

I won't get into the finer points of the story as there are plenty of other reviews here that do, and there's not much I can contribute that hasn't already been discussed, but I absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend this book. I recommend ALL of St. John Mandel's books, but especially this one. I loved everything about it and will be suffering QUITE the book hangover after reading this.

Awful. Truly awful. Weird storyline that makes no sense. Barely was able to read half of it.

From the moment I started this book I was absolutely captivated. I probably could've read it in one sitting but I really wanted to space it out and thoroughly enjoy it which I did.
