I found the book to be alright. I sadly wasn’t as into it as I thought I would be but the plot kept me reading on until I finished.

Although a bit saccharine, this is an engaging enough story about living with Purely-Obsessional OCD, which I didn't know much about prior to reading, so I guess I learned something new, so yay for that.
However.
Enough of this trend where every YA book has to have some HUGE TWIST THAT MAKES YOU RETHINK EVERYTHING YOU JUST READ, especially when I can see that twist coming from a mile away. Just, enough!

Woah. This was so good. My heart is so sad but so happy.

I thought parts of this were really good and I loved the little twist but it became painfully obvious to me as I read that this is a book written about OCD by someone who doesn't suffer from it. I hate to be one of those people but I'm going to anyway... I do have OCD and this story just didn't feel genuine in a lot
Of ways to me, we need more YA own voices books about mental health issues. Nevertheless I'm glad books are being written about OCD in general, it's a step in the right direction to eliminating the stigma.

The author's note explains perfectly why she wanted to write this book. She did a good job. There were parts that seemed a little out of order or didn't make much since until later. The therapy parts were well done. Shrink-Sue's response to the twist was understandable to me.
