- I love Alex Fierro
- I love Hearthstone
- I don't think Alex's gender was discussed respectfully enough at some points
- "metrosexual" like it's fucking 2006
- unnecessarily long
- stop interrupting perfectly good prose to remind us of this thing that you've been reminding us of for the last 25 chapters are you FUCKING STUPID RICK

SPECTACULAR job with a gender fluid character - respectful, real, and not the point of the plot.
The adventure goes zoom and everyone gets challenged, has the chance to be brave, and matures appropriately.

Oh, yeah -

(Not a perfect 5 because I'm not cool enough to thoroughly enjoy the young person's voice and vernacular - it's mythological but not mythic, if you will)

Alex Fierro is probably my favorite character in every book ever. Love them so much.

Still my second favorite Riordan series. The gods are pretty useless and are really cartoony. However, the found family of Magnus, his friends, and his floormates makes this series really enjoyable. Also, the diversity of this series is amazing. A deaf character, a Muslim character, and a genderfluid / transgender character, which are all handled with grace and understanding.

Even death has not brought Magnus peace because now he and his friends have to stop Loki's plans to make it so Sam doesn't have to marry a giant, Thor gets his hammer back, and the end of the world can be put on delay.
