“It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection in disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.”

It was such a lovely read for this time of the year. I’m hoping to read more Christmassy books next year!

A nice short classic!

I can see myself reading this every Christmas as it’s a great reminder of what is important.

A little late on reading this Xmas themed book but it still felt festive.

I liked it. The last bit, after the spirits leave, was so infectiously joyous.

Surprisingly good short read. Hard to separate from all the stuff I already know about this one. And yet there's more in the book than I expected. It's written very flowery and detailed but still readable. I was not convinced that Scrooge's complete transformation overnight was warranted. But certainly he could easily afford to enjoy his own life more and share that with others. And the copy I read had pretty impressive art from Trina Schart Hyman - though I wished there was more.
