A strong issue, overall. Enjoyed all the stories except De La Tierra and Forlesen, both of which seemed plodding and without direction.

Miss 'Harry Mills' (Princess Maud of Wales) and James Marlowe on the outfitted British Navy airship Kestrel go west, on a expedition as "part tourists, part spies, and part archeologists" for new Aetherian-adapted technology.

When Harry picks up a pennydreadful titled ‘The True Story of the Haunted Locomotive of the Rockies.’ they head to Alamosa and it's 'haunted' train, finding instead more mysteries surrounding the Aetherian technology and beings, as the train is murderous and seemingly intelligent as well.
