Welp, that was creepy beyond all reason.

Surprising and super creepy - a good read.

One of the creepiest, creepy crawly books ever. Still have the heebie jeebies, heart still racing. Kids must love it !

I really liked this. It was spooky, and creepy, and haunting, and it had an emotional core I think many people can identify with. It didn't shy away from issues normally left to the adult and young adult markets, but in a way a mature middle grade reader could understand.

A special story

I love the way this author merged the youth’s mind with that of an adult. As a reader you can appreciate the unique early term perspective.

What a creepy and suspenseful book! Perfect for middle grade readers who love horror.

Very creepy and disturbing but also kind of wholesome

I love Kenneth Oppel (shoutout to [b:Half Brother|7942534|Half Brother|Kenneth Oppel|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1347566011s/7942534.jpg|11379638]), and this was a short, creepy book that managed to pack a lot of punch. A lot of the magical realism elements reminded me of [b:Skellig|24271|Skellig (Skellig, #1)|David Almond|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1320460285s/24271.jpg|960], but The Nest was much darker. I'm not a fan of horror elements (scary bugs!), so I probably won't revisit this book but it was very well done.

Interesting but disturbing

This is a curious little story and while I couldn’t put it down because it was so intriguing I didn’t love it overall. It touches on mental health and family dynamics.
