Honestly I hv no idea what I just read why does howl look like a girl? Why was he okay with an old woman kissing him on the lips? All good questions in my opinion and it was just so weird I think my favourite character was definitely calcifer because yes. And not gonna lie Sophie fell hard for howl for literally no reason and that time wasn't she an old woman? I don't think it's been addressed properly when she stopped being one. And it was just so weird.... but then again I do want to read the second book

This book is very much one of those that does what it says on the tin; it's the film as a book. Having loved Howl's Moving Castle as the original book and as the Ghibli film, there was no way I wouldn't love this book.

It was a quick and fun read. A great way of returning to some of my favourite characters for a short while. The art is absolutely gorgeous, and I will be forever obsessed with Howl's Moving Castle in its every form!

Admittedly this is where the plot of the movie starts to break down....

In general, this kind of manga is fun because it gives you time to catch the small details of the movie, but the art is, as far as I can tell, taken from the film stills and so is a bit clunky at times in terms of pacing.

My daughter and I are big fans of Studio Ghibli and Howl's Moving Castle, so we were excited to read this together. It certainly didn't disappoint!
