Safe to say this is my favourite author now. I cried like a baby during this book. I love it

I enjoy these books like I enjoy Lifetime movies.
Take the Plot with a grain of salt. But enjoy the ride.
I will give the author credit on her writing and keeping you invested.

I barely want to review this because Whitney Atkinson sums it up perfectly, but here we go (and beware, this is not getting a "things I loved section").
To start, I gave this to a second hand store the very next day because I thought it was haunting my house, but I got $1 for it so at least it held some value for me. The fact that this is what young people (lol, I'm 23, who am I calling "young people") are reading this is tragic. I can't imagine reading this as a 16 year old and this setting the foundation of what I consider to be a "healthy relationship". I was so nauseous after finishing this, I went to the gym at 11 pm just to work out the vomity feeling it left behind.
I will say, it is a quick read, and that's about all it has going for it. This was my fourth CoHo book and I can safely say I'm officially done with her books. I can't do anymore of the whiplash halfway through that leaves my stomach turning for days on end. I did enjoy IEWU and Verity but there are reasons why those get a pass in my mind (sometimes). One, Verity is marketed as a thriller. You can do whatever messed up stuff in a thriller and get a pass from me because that's what a thriller is. IEWU should never be marketed as a romance. Ever. But I agree that it has an important message and it definitely shed some light on domestic abuse for me. I also understand that CoHo is an entry-level author for a lot of new readers and I'm not bashing them for reading what is thrown in their faces all the time.
I just, don't like her books or their content. I won't bash the author, just her books. Clearly whatever she's doing is working for her

Woooo. I loved how fast this one was. So appreciate that it didn’t bloat the pacing by filling in space between the years. Was not expecting the plot twist here. I hope this was fun to write cause the conceit was entertaining like the characters

I really really enjoyed this book that I was up all night to finish it.
The story was great, but it has you in a lot of ups and downs .
There was one specific part I was so angry at, but I didn’t want to finish but I did and I’m glad I did .
The surprise twist was awesome .
I would definitely recommend this book!
